Christmas eye candy

I have decided to show you a few more Christmas quilts and wallhangings that

are hanging out at my house.  Some of these are quite old but I still love them anyways.

This wallhanging is a panel that I found, it must be at least 10 years old.

I hand quilted it  and added the red binding to finish it off.

This pattern is one of Thimbleberries, I think.

I changed it up a bit and added the embroidered

snowman in the middle.  Usually, it is quite the

conversation piece, due to what is written in the middle,

by the snowman.

I couldn’t resist stitching the “flakes” into the top too.

Everyone gets a chuckle out of it.

Recent wallhanging

Recent wallhanging

This is a recent wallhanging that I completed this year.

The pattern has been around for a long time but I

didn’t like how it hung on the wall-too stiff and wavy for me.

I had used an ultra Heat and Bond and I didn’t like the finished product.

My sister gladly took it off my hands for me.

Here are some of the embellishments that I really like:

crocheted snowflakes

crocheted snowflakes

I love snowflakes and so I had to crochet some and put on

the wallhanging.  A bit of silver metallic bits  and crystals help

the snowflakes to shine.

jingle bells

The horse needed some bells on his neck.

And the snowman needed  a hat and mittens, as well as an owl for

company.

And what front door doesn’t need a wreath and shrubs by the front door.

I had fun with the embellishments.

One thing I wanted to ask everyone though, what do you think of the

Go Cutters?  I am seriously thinking I may purchase one but am trying

to work out all the pros and cons.  Any opinions?  Does anyone have one?

Do  you think that it is worth the price?  And why?

Have a great week.

I don’t have a Go cutter but my friend and I were discussing it. I suppose it’s great for squares and other things but exactly how many circle quilts will you use? I guess it depends on the dye cutters you buy.
I haven’t heard much in the blog world lately about anyone that has one, won one or uses one as to whether or not they still use them.

All of your Christmas projects are lovely. I made the “Flakes” stitchery into a banner my front door. It’s a good one. Really like the idea of embellishing with crocheted snow flakes.

Love all your Christmas “stuff”. Isn’t it fun to get it all out every year? I have quite a few pieces, maybe I’ll stop making them, or give some away. Every surface is covered!

What lovely Christmas hangings! Love all your embellishments!
I don’t have a Go! cutter – and have friends who have bought Sizzix machine that can use either Sizzix or Go! dies – cheaper and more versatile if you papercraft too.

I have the baby go cutter. I bought it off the Shopping Channel in Canada. I don’t remember what I paid but it was a very good price. It came with 2 dyes as well. They are really fast at cutting out shapes like apple cores and tumblers. If I was cutting strips or squares I would use my ruler and rotary cutter. I think they are great for people who have trouble cutting. You must follow directions or you may stretch the fabric and distort the shape. They had released some new dyes that look great.
