It was my one year anniversary of this blog on the 26th. So, in celebration
of that milestone, I am giving away a snowman pattern.
It is really cute and so fitting for this time of the year.
You must leave a comment concerning 1 thing you like about quilting
blogs and 1 thing you dislike about quilting blogs. For example, I really
like the pictures of quilts, great eye candy. However, I dislike a post that
goes on forever-short and sweet for me, please.
These past 2 weeks, I have been working on Lynn’s Woodland Creatures.
What a beautiful applique quilt!
The animals were great and Lynn did a great job with her applique.
She has alot of patience-I don’t think that I would want to take on
such a huge project. It is stunning!!
I did have fun adding a few interesting items to the top-
the lily pad, for instance. And I added a spider’s web to
match one on the other side of the outer border.
Those were the fun parts. I did a mixed bag of free motion
quilting for the outer border.
It consisted of swirls, feathers, pebbles and eyes. I carried the
same fill on the inside of the border too. Around all the animals,
I did meandering-to break up the background areas a little.
And, of course, I had to add some feathers somewhere on the
quilt.
This quilt measured in at a whopping 80″x 102″.
I think that is correct-Lynn will let me know if I am wrong.
Blue polyester thread was used for the top and backing.
The total number of hours is approximately between 30-40 hours.
Now, that this baby is finished, I am working on my Trend Tex
Challenge.
Hoping to have it all quilted up and ready to post by next week.
Besides that, I have the itch to try something different so I am
thinking about painting a quilt top. Yeah, it sounds crazy to me too
but I think I am up for a change.
Oh, please remember to leave an email address so I can contact you
if you win the pattern. I am planning on making the draw on Friday,
Jan 31. Good luck!!
Don’t forget to head over to Freshly Pieced for some more eye
candy as well.
What a generous idea and congratulations for 1 year of blogging – time flies doesn’t it? I think your block details here are just gorgeous, thank you for sharing them
HI ESther,
Thanks for your encouraging words. I do treasure them coming from you.
Ruth
Love your woodland quilt, it looks like lots of fun to make!
Love your patterns. Would be happy to win but not neccassary. I won by stopping to your block and saw the eyecandy.
Gabi
I love the quilting blogs that share the source of the pattern that they did (if there is one). I don’t like quilt blogs that have pictures that take too long to download. Lots of pictures are great if they show up within a minute. Thanks for the chance to win!
Happy anniversary. The snowman quilt pattern is right up my alley. It would take me over a year to finish it as I don’t quilt much anymore. I love to follow blogs that have detailed pictures of the quilting. I don’t like to see a bunch of secrets and sneak peaks because I don’t always go back to those blogs every day. I love following Freshly Pieced WIP Wednesday.
It’s my one year anniversary of blogging too! Your applique quilt is adorable! I can only imagine the hours of handwork involved.
congrats on your first year…love your appilique quilt…love photos on quilt blogs…i live in a rural area and it is a distance to see what others are doing…the blog world brings us together and i love photos
Your quilting is just lovely. I love all the new ideas I get on quilting blogs. What I dislike is the fact that there are not enough hours in the day to try the new ideas I get from quilting blogs!
Congrats on your first anniversary!
Congratulations on one year!! I love see all the quilts people are making as it inspires me to get into my sewing room, the one thing I don’t like is there isn’t enough time in the day to get all the quilts made I see and like.
Lovely work!
Congrats on your blog anniversary! That Woodland quilt is just lovely, and the modern quilt looks good too. As for what I like about quilting blogs: eye candy! And what I dislike: eye-candy! it can get frustrating to see so many great patterns and ideas and knowing one will never have the time to make even a fraction of them ……
HI Regina,
I understand what you mean. I just bought a book about longarm quilting and the pictures are gorgeous. It is truly an inspiration to me yet, I spent the rest of the day in a grump because I realize that I may never be that good. I know, I have serious problems-ha!
Ruth
What a cute snowman pattern. I love looking at the quilts people are making – and tutorials are always nice. What I don’t like about quilt blogs are those that don’t post often. If there is a long time between posts (continually) I will unfollow.
