I apologize for not blogging for the past 5-6 weeks but I am back now.

It has been a rough summer dealing with family issues.  I am glad that

it is now over and life is somewhat returning to normal.

The quilts shown below were all finished before the beginning of the summer

and again, I can not remember who owns what quilt. So, sit back and enjoy

the show.

This was a large quilt. It is one of many I have completed for my clients this

year. It was a popular mystery quilt that was held at Country Concessions,

a local quilt shop in the area.

I love the color of the blues in this top. You can see that there are many

different blocks;  great for practicing your 1/4″ seam allowance accuracy.

 

In the white border, my client wanted feathers. As usual, I wanted to dress them up

a little bit so I added the swirl inside of each feather.

I love feathers and nothing says traditional like feathers. I used a white polyester

thread, So Fine, in the outer white border.

The outer border is gorgeous! I love the pieced borders but it does take alot of time

to make these. It is well worth the time and effort though.

I thought that I would throw in one more block for you. I forgot the backing but we can

manage. An overall design was stitched onto the top but that has slipped my mind as well.

I thought I would shake things up a bit by showing the backing first. Yes, I am living

on the edge.

I love all the sailboats on the fabric on the back.

Arlene made this quilt for one of her grandsons. I think that he is going to love it.

The kit came from Connecting Threads, an online fabric store. They also have great

sales too. The only problem I notice when buying online is that you can not tell

the exact color of the fabric you are purchasing until it arrives at your house and

then you are stuck with it. Something to think about before ordering online.

The anchor and stars are so cute.

The lighthouse is adorable as well. I used a white polyester thread for the top and

a navy blue polyester thread for the backing. Waves were stitched all over the quilt top.
