One week left until Christmas Day. I hope that doesn’t strike fear in your heart as
you read that last sentence. I still don’t have all my shopping done or wrapped and
Christmas cards didn’t happen again this year. All of my customers’ quilts did get
finished and on time too.
There are a few more pictures from The Houston Quilt Festival, 2018. I hope that you are
not getting sick of me still talking about it. I just want to share some beautiful quilts with
you.
I love this quilt, the colors, the lady in the quilt and the stitching, of course.
But for the life of me, I can not figure out how she made this quilt.
Even the up close pictures is not helping me. I love trying to figure out
how a quilt was constructed. Any ideas?
This is quite the quilt as well. The creator hails from Japan.
A close up of the boat.
Speaking of close ups. this shows a portion of the Best of Show Quilt. Look at
all the detail and the quilting.
Jacqueline De Jonge is the designer of this quilt.
The kids are having a blast. Brings a smile to my face every time I look at this
quilt.
I met Lisa at her booth at the Festival. She is very down to earth and talented.
More close ups and great texture.
Too bad I didn’t get the whole picture of this quilt. I was running around trying to
get lots of interesting shots of quilts that I liked. There were so many quilts and not
enough time to see them all.
I love these boats and the colors too.
Interesting color choices.
Again, I love the colors, the picture and the quilting.
Great colors!!
A more traditional quilt. Very intricate.
An award winning Alphabet Quilt.
Betty Busby created this colorful quilt.
More close ups.
Love the colors and the lines.
This quilt had all kinds of fabrics on it: cheesecloth, wool roving, tulle. What fun to use all
of these fibers in a quilt.
Being creative is so much fun and sometimes so simple. Dots! Who would have thought.
Love the colors.
Birch trees, far away and up close and personal.
A Japanese applique quilt. It is fun to look at all the detail in this quilt.
Darlene and I in front of her third place quilt in the Large Hand Applique Category.
I am on the left in the picture.
Have a great week.
It was great to see this quilts again. You really did get very good close up shots.
It was such a great show and so much fun seeing it with you.
Xo Darlene
