Way Back…

As I was looking through my photos for this blog tonight, I realized that the pictures

are from way back in the summer. Alot has happened since then but I am catching

up in showing you some of my customers’ work. I must admit, my customers

are pretty talented, as you will shortly see.

Baby Quilt

Who can resist Winnie The Pooh. He seems to be timeless.

Eeyore is so cute as well. I really love this baby quilt.

And Piglet, of course can’t be left out. I used a white polyester thread for the

top and a light blue for the backing.

Winnie the Pooh is busy enjoying his favorite snack.

The backing is always nice to see. The texture from the quilting shows up nicely

on solid backings.

The Backing

One of my customers likes to make up her own patterns. She made this for her

daughter’s friend and husband. Very modern looking to me.

I used a black polyester thread for the top and the backing and followed the piecing in each

block. Why fight the piecing, go with the flow, in this case.

The backing was a grey print but the stitching shows up nicely.

Anne made this quilt for a friend using a panel and adding borders. I love the colors and

the print, so cheery.

The backing

I used a light yellow polyester thread for the top and a cream for the backing. Flowers

were stitched all over the quilt top.

Dale’s quilt

Dale made this cutie for one of her grand daughter’s. Can you guess what she loves?

It was alot of fun working in this quilt.

Unicorn’s mane

I love the simple wavy lines in the unicorn’s mane. I used a grey polyester So Fine thread

on the backing and I matched the thread color to the background colors on the top.

The backing is so soft and the texture is amazing.

Laura’s Quilt

Laura made this huge quilt. I am amazed at how large some of these quilts are and how

someone can actually fit them under their sewing machine.

The blocks

All that piecing too! Whew! I don’t have time to piece anymore but the patience it

requires is incredible.

The outer border is composed of flying geese. I really love flying geese in the borders but

would not attempt it myself.

The center medallion area. The colors were really rich looking as well. It will

look great on Laura’s bed.

 The Backing

Have a great week and stay warm. There is another cold front moving in. Australia sounds good

right about now, they are having a heat wave.

I Am Back…

I am back. I have been away for a while but here I am once again.

Hopefully, everyone had a great Christmas Holiday. Mine was pretty

quiet, which was nice.

It’s been so long since I completed these quilts for customers that I can’t

remember all the details. If you are wanting information about the thread or

pattern I used, just ask me and I will go back and find out for you.

Green and pink quilt

This is a pretty cool pattern.

The backing

Pieced backs add so much interest to the backing.

A close up of the fabric used for the backing.

Christmas was coming and here is a panel that was cut up and sashing added to

look like you are looking out of a window.

Overall picture

You can see how the pieced border adds more interest as well.

The backing fabric, a nice navy blue to match the front. I used a blue polyester

thread for the top and the backing and “Swirls” for the pattern.

Centennial Quilt

This quilt has so much fun blocks in it. Because it is Canadian, I had to stitch “Maple Leaves”

onto the quilt.

My neighbour always says that he is “as cool as a moose.” Well, this moose says just that. I really

love this block.

And what says Canadiana more than a pair of mittens?

The backing

The pieced backing is neat as well. So much information and I love the provincial emblems

used too.

Red Cardinal Quilt

This pattern is really lovely and the fabrics used are really nice.

The Birch trees and Cardinals are really stunning. A swirl pattern was used on the

quilt top. A light grey polyester thread was used for the front and the backing.

A close up of the Cardinals.

A grey fabric was used for the backing.

A child’s quilt

The bright colors in this quilt are so cheery, which is nice for this time of the year.

“Splat” was stitched all over the quilt top. It is a fun pattern to stitch out.

The backing

Using leftover fabrics  for a pieced backing is a great way to use up fabrics from a project.

Once again,  pieced backs adds more interest to the backing. Please remember to press the

seams flat,  as the seams add more bulk that has to be stitched over by the longarm sewing

head.

Have a great week and it is good to be back.
