Going Back…

It’s a good thing that my husband is retired because March Break turned out to be

extremely busy. My daughter is in HIgh School and wanted to check out some

universities in the area. McMaster and Lauriantan University were on the agenda and

I tagged along for the trip to Sudbury.

Now life has settled down, I am back at work and trying to catch up on my

photos for this blog. These quilts were completed in the summer so I am going

back a few months. Nonetheless, everyone seems to enjoy a  good Quilt Show.

Eva’s Quilt

I have two  good friends who are very talented hand embroiderers, Eva being one of them.

This is one of two  hand embroidered quilts that she made.

The colors are very soothing and Eva even hand quilted it as well. Did I mention that

she is also very talented in this area as well?

The backing

I love pieced backings. They add so much more interest to the back  of the quilt and you

feel as if you are getting two  quilts for the price of one.

Eva’s 2nd Quilt

This is another hand embroidered quilt. Crabapple HIll is the designer and I really like

the patterns that they create.

Eva also created this beauty. Does she ever sleep?

This quilt is hand quilted as well.

You can see her  evenly spaced stitches on the back of the quilt.

The colors are really soothing in this quilt. Do you find that certain

colors draw you to a quilt and make you want to buy the pattern?

Swirls were stitched all over the quilt top. I love  helping

people finish their quilts so they can be used instead of

sitting in a box or drawer somewhere, waiting to be finished.

And yes, I have quilts  in a box, waiting to be finished too.

I love this light blue backing fabric. I am wanting to start a miniature

Wedding Ring Quilt and I couldn’t decide on the colors. I think that I

just found my colors.

This quilt is very graphic in nature but who can resist a black and white Quilt?

Swirls were stitched on the top and a black polyester thread was used for the top and

the backing.

The backing matches the top beautifully.

Wolves

Wolves anyone? I think that this may be a Robert Kauffman print. Anyone out there

know for sure?

This was fun as I was able to stitch around each of the wolves. Some guy is really

going to love this quilt.

The Backing

You can see all of the wolves on the back as well.

Have a good week. Spring is almost here.
